Novels usually have black and white inner pages and colorful covers. When designing the cover file, please remember to add 3mm bleeding. So that the finished product will not leave white edges after cutting. The text on the inner page must be at least 3mm away from the finished product line. Some clients would like to add color pictures into the book, for the pictures please make them 300 DPI. If the DPI is too low, the printing effect would be blurry.

There are generally two kinds of novels: paperback novels and hardcover novels. Paperback can be perfect bound, PUR bound, perfect glue with section sewing. We usually make perfect glue books with section sewing for customers. Because this kind of binding is more durable, it is not easier to drop pages, and it is easier to open books for reading.

Hardbound novels also with section sewing. There have 2 choices about the spine, that is round spine and square spine. If the novel is thick, we recommend making it into a round back, which will be more convenient to read. Some customers like to add a ribbon bookmark so that readers can record where they read. You can also add a dust jacket for your hardcover novel. Which is usually use 157g coated paper for color printing, or you can customize the materials. The cover materials of hardcover novels are also more available, including paper, cloth or leather. The cover can also make different effects. Such as embossing, UV, debossed, foiling etc. to highlight the title.

About the inner stock of a novel, there have white offset paper and cream paper. And many special papers for your choosing.

When choosing the binding way of a novel, you can make choices according to your budget. Generally, under the condition of the same quantity, size and same pages. Perfect bound will be cheaper than case bound. If you want to do high-end novels, we often recommend making them hardcover.
