The production of a book consists of two parts: printing and binding. Let's look at the difference between a hardcover book printing and a paperback book printing.

Printing:

(1) The printing process is the same and there is no difference. Hardcover books require better quality, so the paper used will generally be better (such as thicker, more upscale), and paperback books with print with ordinary paper.

(2) In the process of printing in china, the printer will pay special attention to the printing quality of the hardcover book, and will take extra care to control the quality, such as color aberration, overprint, dirty spot control, etc. The paperback is printed according to the general quality standard.

Binding:

The main difference between a hardback book and a paperback book is in binding.

Paperback book is our usual use of books, the general use of glue technology, that is, with a special glue machine, the use of special binding hot melt glue, the book's inner pages each printed together, and then stick together with the cover. The cover is generally coated paper, thicker than the inner page, the whole book can be bent, can be held in the hand. But the inside page of the hardcover book is generally used to lock the line process, is to use the line to lock the inside page together, and then glue, so more strong, do not love to drop the page. The cover is usually hard-shelled, will be printed on the thin paper paste on the hard shell to form a book cover, and then the inner pages stick to the book shell. Hardcover books can not be bent, look high grade, generally because of the hard skin is very heavy, exquisite.

There also have one more difference between a hardcover book printing and a paperback book printing, it is the book spine.  For paperback book the spine is square, but the hardcover book can be round spine or square spine.

Hardcover books are very thick, and the package inside the cable, when the purchase has marked hardcover; paperback cover is thin, generally use coated paper.
